1. About us

This website at barconhygiene.com (the “Site”) is operated by Barcon Hygiene Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”).

  • Registered company number: 15701295
  • Registered office: 333 Ranglet Road, Walton Summit Centre, Preston, PR5 8AR, United Kingdom
  • Email: info@barconhygiene.com

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Site and any order you place with us. By using the Site or placing an order, you confirm that you accept these terms.

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force is the one published on this page at the time you place your order. We recommend you save or print a copy for your records.

2. Using the Site

The Site is intended for users aged 18 or over.

You agree not to:

  • use the Site for any unlawful purpose
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its server, or any connected database
  • introduce any virus, trojan, or other malicious material
  • use automated systems, scrapers, or bots to extract data from the Site without our written permission
  • copy, republish, or commercially exploit any content from the Site without our written permission

We reserve the right to restrict or withdraw access to the Site at our discretion.

3. Intellectual property

All content on the Site — including text, product descriptions, images, layout, and design — is either owned by us or licensed to us, and is protected by UK and international copyright and trade mark law.

Product images and manufacturer names are used to identify the goods we supply. All trade marks referenced remain the property of their respective owners. We are an independent supplier of spares and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an authorised dealer for any manufacturer unless expressly stated.

You may view, download and print pages from the Site for your own use, but may not reproduce them commercially without our permission.

4. Products

We take reasonable care to describe our products accurately. However:

  • product images are illustrative and colours may vary depending on your display
  • specifications and dimensions are provided by our supplier and given in good faith
  • packaging may differ from that shown
  • we do not guarantee that every product will be suitable for your particular application

Compatibility is your responsibility. Where a product is described as fitting or suitable for a particular machine or manufacturer’s equipment, that information is provided as a guide only. If you are unsure whether a part is correct for your equipment, please contact us before ordering.

5. Availability

We do not hold stock. All products are supplied to order from our UK supplier and are subject to availability at the time your order is placed.

If an item you have ordered is unavailable or discontinued, we will contact you as soon as possible and offer you the choice of:

  • waiting for the item to become available
  • accepting a suitable alternative
  • cancelling that item and receiving a full refund

We will not be liable for any loss arising from a delay or failure to supply where that delay or failure is caused by our supplier.

6. Prices and VAT

All prices displayed on the Site are exclusive of VAT. VAT at the prevailing UK rate is added at checkout, and the VAT-inclusive total is shown to you before you complete your order.

Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP).

We reserve the right to change prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders we have already accepted.

Every effort is made to ensure prices are correct. If we discover an error in the price of goods you have ordered, we will contact you as soon as possible to tell you and give you the option of confirming your order at the corrected price or cancelling it. If we are unable to contact you, we will treat the order as cancelled and refund you in full.

7. How a contract is formed

When you place an order you will receive an acknowledgement email confirming that we have received it. This acknowledgement is not acceptance of your order.

A contract between us is formed only when we dispatch the goods and send you a dispatch confirmation.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order before dispatch, including where:

  • the goods are unavailable
  • there has been a pricing or description error
  • we are unable to obtain authorisation for your payment
  • we suspect the order is fraudulent

8. Payment

We accept payment by debit and credit card, and by Google Pay, processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details.

Payment is taken in full at the point of order. All payments are in GBP.

9. Delivery

Delivery charges are shown at checkout before you complete your order and are calculated based on the items in your basket.

We deliver to mainland UK addresses. If you are ordering from Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and Islands, or another offshore area, please contact us before ordering to confirm delivery costs and timescales.

Delivery estimates are given in good faith but are not guaranteed. As we supply to order, dispatch times depend on our supplier’s availability.

Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. Ownership passes once we have received payment in full.

Please check your goods on arrival. If anything is damaged, missing, or incorrect, contact us at info@barconhygiene.com within 48 hours of delivery so we can put it right.

10. Your right to cancel (consumer orders)

If you are a consumer, you have the right to cancel your order under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

You may cancel within 14 days of the day you (or someone you nominate) receive the goods, without giving any reason.

To cancel, email us at info@barconhygiene.com with your order number, stating that you wish to cancel. You may use the model cancellation form set out in the Regulations, but you do not have to.

After cancelling, you must return the goods to us within 14 days. Goods must be unused, in their original packaging, and in a resalable condition.

We will refund you within 14 days of receiving the goods back, or of receiving evidence that you have returned them, whichever is sooner. Refunds are made using the same payment method you used to order.

We will refund the standard delivery cost you paid. If you chose an enhanced delivery service, we will refund only the equivalent standard cost.

You are responsible for the cost of returning the goods where you are cancelling because you have changed your mind.

Exceptions

The right to cancel does not apply to goods that are made to your specification, clearly personalised, or specially ordered in for you.

11. Returns after 14 days

Returns requested after the 14-day cancellation period may be accepted at our discretion, subject to a 10% restocking fee to cover inspection, repackaging and administration.

We cannot accept returns:

  • of items that have been used, fitted, or show signs of wear
  • of custom-made or specially ordered items
  • more than 30 days after delivery, unless the goods are faulty

12. Faulty or incorrect goods

If goods are faulty, damaged in transit, or not as described, please contact us at info@barconhygiene.com with your order number and, where possible, photographs.

We will cover return postage where the goods are faulty or we have sent the wrong item.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including your right to goods that are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described.

Please contact us before returning anything so we can advise on the process.

13. Business customers

Where you buy as a business rather than as a consumer, the cancellation rights in section 10 do not apply. Returns from business customers are accepted at our discretion under section 11.

For business customers, our liability for any claim arising from an order is limited to the price paid for the goods concerned, and we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of contracts, or any indirect or consequential loss.

14. Our liability

We do not exclude or limit our liability in any way where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for any breach of your statutory rights as a consumer.

Subject to the above, we are not responsible for loss or damage that was not foreseeable at the time the contract was formed.

Pressure washing and washdown equipment can be dangerous if misused. You are responsible for ensuring that any part you buy is correctly specified, correctly fitted, and used in accordance with the equipment manufacturer’s instructions and applicable safety requirements. We accept no liability for loss or damage arising from incorrect selection, incorrect fitting, or misuse of goods supplied.

15. Events outside our control

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where that failure or delay results from events beyond our reasonable control, including supplier failure, carrier delays, industrial action, fire, flood, severe weather, or failure of public networks.

16. Your personal data

We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, why, and what your rights are under UK GDPR.

17. Complaints

If you are unhappy with anything, please contact us at info@barconhygiene.com and we will do our best to resolve it.

If we cannot resolve your complaint, consumers may be able to use an alternative dispute resolution scheme. Details are available from Citizens Advice or the Chartered Trading Standards Institute.

18. General

If any provision of these terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in force.

Our failure to enforce any right under these terms does not amount to a waiver of that right.

These terms are between you and us. No other person has any right to enforce them.

19. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may bring proceedings in the courts of your home country.
